Manchester Media Group
The student media network of the University of Manchester Students’ Union — independent and student-run since 1964.
Manchester Media Group (MMG) is the umbrella for three of the UK’s best-known student outlets: The Mancunion, Britain’s largest student newspaper; Fuse FM, our award-winning student radio station; and Fuse TV, our student television channel. Together they reach tens of thousands of students across Manchester every year.
Everything we publish, broadcast and film is made by students. We train everyone from scratch — no experience is needed to write a story, present a show or shoot a film — and one membership covers all three titles, every section and all our kit.
We are editorially independent. Our journalists, presenters and producers make their own decisions about what to cover, and we hold the University and the Students’ Union to account just as readily as we celebrate the best of student life.
What we do
- Report — campus and city news, investigations and comment.
- Broadcast — live radio, music shows and podcasts on Fuse FM.
- Film — documentary, drama, interviews and live events on Fuse TV.
- Train — workshops and editor mentoring across every title.
